The indomitable Lions of Cameroon this evening in Rabat, Morocco defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa by 2:1 to advance to the quarter finals of the ongoing AFCON competition.
Earlier, the hosts, the Atlas Lions of Morocco narrowly edged out hard fighting Tanzania by a lone goal. Tanzania can be proud of their performance today.Barring one quality moment from Brahim Diaz, they barely put a foot wrong and made it a contest to suit their strengths. They were somewhat wasteful in attack but against one of the strongest teams in world football right now, they held their own.
Cameroon will not face Morocco in the quarter finals game slated for Friday.
South Africa were very wasteful in from og goal and could have scored gour goals in the second half. They kept the Cameroonians in the half and pile pressure upon pressure but were poor in finishing and conversion. Their lone goal came in the 88th of play through a cross from the wings.
For Cameroon, goals from Junior Tchamadeu and teenage striker Christian Kofane ensured a significant victory for the Indomitable Lions
