This narrative is echoed in several countries, reflecting AHF’s steadfast dedication to transforming lives and achieving global control of HIV.
Established in 1987 in Los Angeles as the AIDS Hospice Foundation, AHF has evolved into the largest HIV/AIDS service organization worldwide. With a workforce of over 8,000 committed staff members, AHF provides expert, compassionate, and non-judgmental care to everyone, irrespective of their ability to pay. “When we initiated our first global programs in South Africa and Uganda in 2002, assisting 100 clients in each nation, we could not have anticipated our expansion into 13 additional African countries and our commitment to caring for 1.3 million lives across the continent,” stated Dr. Penninah Iutung, AHF’s Executive Vice President. “Drawing on years of advocacy and innovation, AHF Africa now implements programs that extend beyond clinical care to encompass community-led prevention, equitable access strategies, and pandemic preparedness.
