Real Madrid Wins UEFA Champions League 2022

It was a thrilling game that lived up to its billing, two soccer giants in Europe meeting to decide the Champions of Europe for 2022. Real Madrid won and are the Champions of Europe. For the fourteenth time the Spanish football giants lifted the coveted Champions league trophy after beating Liverpool FC by a lone goal in Paris.

But the real hero of the game was the Real Madrid Goal Keeper who made wonderful saves to keep Liverpool at bay. Mohamed Salah had six shots on target, the most on record (since 2003-04) of any player in a single game, but could not sail past the goal keeper.

Liverpool gave it a valiant effort but in the end an inspired rearguard display from Los Blancos, coupled with Vinicius Junior’s decisive goal, was enough to land the Spanish giants the victory.

Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, has won more European Cups, four in all, as a manager than any other, and he is revelling in that fact after Real Madrid’s victory over Liverpool.

The Italian has told BT Sport: “I can’t believe it. We had a fantastic season. We did really well. It was a difficult game and we suffered a lot, more so in the first half. In the end I think we deserved to win this competition. “We’re really happy. What can I say? I can’t say more. “I am a record man. I had luck to come here last year and have a fantastic season. A fantastic club, a really good squad with a lot of quality and mental character. “The season was top. “I think we passed through really difficult games. The supporters helped us a lot in the last game. They helped us tonight. We’re happy and they’re happy.”

It was a heartbreaking end to a memorable season for Liverpool, who won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup before being pipped to the Premier League title by a point and losing in the French capital.

Vinicius Junior’s decisive goal for Real Madrid was enough to land the Spanish giants the victory. Aged 21 years and 320 days, Vinicius Junior is now the fifth-youngest goal scorer in UCL final history behind Marco Asensio (21 years and 133 days), Lars Ricken (20 years and 322 days), Carlos Alberto (19 years and 167 days) and Patrick Kluivert (18 years and 327 days).

Thibaut Courtois, the real Madrid Goal Keeper pulled up saves to thwart Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and the rest of the Liverpool squad as Liverpool tried to haul themselves back into the game.
