Tottenham Hotspur Wins 2025 Europa League beating Man U 1:0
Tottenham Hotspur have won the Europa League after beating Premier League their rivals Manchester United 1-0 in the final game in Bilbao, Spain. Brennan Johnson’s 42-minute goal gave Tottenham Hotspur the win and a spot in next year’s UEFA Champions League, which is set to bring the club a £100m windfall.
Brennan Johnson scored the game’s only goal in the 42nd minute, getting on the end of Pape Matar Sarr’s cross and benefiting from a deflection off defender Luke Shaw. Dominic Solanke might have added a second on the hour mark after good work from Destiny Udogie during a counterattack. The England striker took a poor touch when set through on goal, though.
United probed for an equaliser with Micky van de Ven forced to make an acrobatic and remarkable goal-line clearance, hurting himself in the process. Guglielmo Vicario also kept out an effort from substitute Alejandro Garnacho.
Spurs have endured a disappointing top-flight campaign, currently sitting in 17th place, but the victory in Bibao, Spain, means they have secured a place in Europe’s premier club competition and salvaged their season. It is the first time Tottenham have won a trophy since the Carling Cup in 2008
