UNDP commits $50,000 to support nature-positive MSMEs in Nigeria
In a critical move to transform Nigeria’s business landscape, the UNDP‘s Global Environment Facility has committed $50,000 to champion nature-positive entrepreneurship nationwide. This strategic investment, implemented by the International Trade Facilitators Association, will empower 470 MSMEs across all six geopolitical zones over nine months, simultaneously boosting local economies and environmental sustainability. The initiative represents an unprecedented opportunity to align Nigeria’s business growth with ecological responsibility.
By empowering the backbone of local economies—small-scale farmers, fishermen, and processors—this transformative project creates a win-win for business sustainability and environmental protection.
The strategic $50,000 UNDP investment, delivered through performance-based funding, ensures accountability while maximizing impact. What’s more, partner organizations have committed an additional $50,000 in crucial operational support, including expert coaching, logistics assistance, and facility access—doubling the project’s resources and significantly enhancing its chances of success.
