Commodities market sees slight increase of 3.05% as Export Index rose by 0.51%
The commodities market was green last week. The AFEX Commodities Index (ACI), which monitors domestic commodity trends, noted a slight increase of 3.05%, closing at 63.82 points. Similarly, the AFEX Export Index (AEI) rose by 0.51% closing at 78.44 points.
Market activities on the Africa Exchange on the other hand, fell. The number of deals traded decreased by 68.97%. The volume of commodities traded went down by 8.42%, closing at 1,272,00 kg, similarly, the total value of trades declined by 76.19%, ending the week at 0.69 million.
The AFEX’s year-on-year forecasting remains favorable as the exchange anticipates price increases in a range of commodities, generating prospective investment opportunities.
