Final Premiership Table – Man City make UEFA Championships

See the 2024/2025 Premier League Final Table after the 38th and final game of the season played today by all 20 teams all through England. The 2024-25 Premier League season has wrapped up! Even though Liverpool clinched the title nearly a month ago and the relegations of Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Leicester City seemed inevitable for quite some time, there was still some action to be resolved on Sunday. All 20 teams played their last match of the season simultaneously, with spots in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League still up for grabs.

Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Fulham secured them third place, ensuring their return to Europe’s elite competition next season, finishing behind champions Liverpool (who drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Anfield) and Arsenal (who triumphed 2-1 at Southampton).

Chelsea, who just clinched a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, will be joining the UEFA Conference League finalists, along with Newcastle United. They managed to sneak into the Champions League for the second time in three years, even after a 1-0 loss at home to Everton.

Newcastle owes a debt of gratitude to Aston Villa for helping them secure a fifth-place finish. Villa’s 2-0 defeat at Manchester United dropped them to sixth, which means they’ll be heading to the Europa League. But let’s not forget about Forest, who were once a surprising contender for the title. They wrap up the season in seventh place, which is a solid outcome for a team that was fighting against relegation last year, even if it’s not quite what they had hoped for back in January.

Man United’s Premier League season was pretty rough, but it turned out to be not as disastrous as it could have been. Their win against a 10-man Villa lifted them to 15th place. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur, who defeated them in the Europa League final on Wednesday, ended up in 17th after suffering a 4-1 loss at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

In the Champions League race, Manchester City handled their business at Fulham without any hassle. Pep Guardiola’s team only required a point at Craven Cottage to secure a top-five finish, and their solid 2-0 victory was more than sufficient to earn a spot in Europe’s premier club competition. While it’s not the kind of celebration City is used to on the final day, Guardiola and his players were still smiling at the end of the match.

For the second time in 16 years as a top-tier manager, Guardiola has ended up outside the top two. There was a moment this season — especially during a stretch of just one win in 13 matches across all competitions in November and December — when it seemed like everything might fall apart. At the very least, City have managed to minimize the fallout.

In the last decade, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United have all missed out on the Champions League. On the other hand, City last failed to qualify back in 2010-11. Even after their toughest season in ten years, they’ll still be at Europe’s elite level.
