Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace and New Castle qualify for EFL Quarter Finals

Manchester City, Arsenal , Chelsea, Crystal Palace and New Castle United have all qualified for the quarter finals of the 2025/2026 Carabao Cup competition, otherwise known as the English Football League Cup.

In the round 4 games played today, Manchester City came from behind to beat Swansea FC by three goals to one. Pep Guardiola rested his key player, Erling Haarland and first choice goal keeper, Donnarumma.

Arsenal Playing at home at the Emirates stadium defeated hard fighting Brighton and Hove Albion (BHA) by two goals to nill. Both goals came in the second half of play through Nwaneri and Saka.

Chelsea had to put up a spirited fight to ward off stubborn wolves by four goals to three. Wolves came from three goals down to chase the win only to be sent out by Chelsea with better experience and more quality players.

New Castle United had an easy win against Tottenham FC sending them out of the competition by two goals to nill. The two goals came through Schaer in the first half and Woltemade in the second half.

Liverpool’s slump continued to the Carabao Cup competition as they were thoroughly beaten by Crystal Palace at Anfield by three goals to nill. Mo Salah did not play today and his absence was thoroughly felt by the Reds as they ended woefully in front of their own fans.

On Tuesday Brentford beat Grimsby 5:0, Fulham beat Wycombe 5:4 on penalties while Cardiff beat Wrexham 2:1 to also qualify for the quarter finals of the EFL.
