Soludo Wins Anambra State Governorship Election in the 21 LGAs

What a historic day for Ndi Anambra! The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo (APGA) as the winner of the November 8, 2025, Anambra State Governorship Election. In a resounding mandate, Soludo clinched victory across ALL 21 Local Government Areas, sweeping 422,664 votes—a true landslide that speaks volumes about the trust and love from our people.

Despite fierce competition from the likes of Nicholas Ukachukwu (APC – 99,445 votes), George Moghalu (LP – 10,505 votes), and others, Soludo’s vision for a secure, prosperous, and innovative Anambra shone through. From early polling unit wins to dominating the IReV portal uploads (over 94% by evening), the momentum was unstoppable. Even in challengers’ strongholds like Nnewi South, APGA prevailed!

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) emerged victorious in the election with 422,664 votes, securing a sweeping win across all 21 local government areas of the state. His closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), trailed far behind with 99,445 votes, while Sir Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes.

INEC reported that 16 candidates contested the election. Out of 2,788,864 registered voters, 598,229 were accredited, and 595,298 votes were cast, with 11,244 votes rejected. Soludo’s overwhelming victory reaffirmed his dominance in the state’s political landscape.

The State Returning Officer, Professor Omoregie Edoba, declared Soludo winner of the governorship election: I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, Returning Officer for the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election, hereby declare that the election was peaceful. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, having scored 422,664 votes — the highest number of valid votes cast and having satisfied the requirements of the law — is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
