Guardiola’s Gamble Backfires as Man City Drown 2:0 to Leverkusen

Pep Guardiola made a very bad and confusing gamble in Man City’s UEFA championship game against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday and it backfired big time as City lost 2:0.

Even before the game fans raged calling his team selection a Carabao cup team as Haaland, Doku, Donnarumma and other great stars were benched. Pep never explained the reason behind his below par tram selection against a top team like Bayer Leverkusen known for their lethal force and goal scoring prowess.

By the time Pep realized his mediocrity in his team it was already too late. Haaland and Doku were introduced late and by them Leverkusen were up by 2 goals and were content defending what they have: Victory for the night.

The questions on the lips of many fans of Man City are: why the strange and below par team selection? Does Pep Guardiola not have advisers? Or is he just showing off his arrogance? Is there a dressing room issue in City? Has he fallen out with the likes of Haaland and Doku and trying to show them he can do without them?

Whatever the answers, the results of Tuesday’s championship league game against Bayer Leverkusen clearly shows that Pep Guardiola is contributory to the poor runs in Man City.
