Abba Folawiyo, Senator Ita Giwa, Bisi Fayemi and Dele Momodu Honored at AFWN2018
Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2018 ( AFWN2018 ) has honored some notable Nigerians who have contributed in no small measure towards raising the standard of African Fashion and in promoting the African Spirit. They were honored during the gala night of the AFWN2018 at the Banquet hall of the Lagoon, Lagos.
Those honored include Princess Abba Folawiyo, Senator Florence Ita Giwa (Mama Bakasi), wife of Ekiti State Governor Elect, Erelu Bisi Fayemi and Ovation Publisher, Chief Dele Momodu. The presentations were made by the Chairman of the occasion, the Olugbon of Ile Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao and his wife (Olori)
Princess Abba Folawiyo was the first President of Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN) and has always been supportive of the growth of fashion industry in Nigeria and Africa. Since the emergence of African fashion Week, Princess Abba Folawiyo has never missed any year and she had show cased her fashion collections in the 2014 edition.
Other award recipients at the gala night include Senator Daisy Danjuma, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Biola Okoya and Kemi Adewumni.
The gala night was not ended yet as the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Olufunsho Amosun, took to the run way and in appreciation of her her numerous contributions to society, the Moremi Label fashion was dedicated to her.
The entire gala night was graced by grand patron of Africa Fashion Week Nigeria, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ogaja 11, the Ooni of Ife who attended with some of his chiefs and subjects.
The African Fashion Week Nigeria is in its 5th year and was founded by Princess Aderonke Ademiluyi. It has served as the foremost platform for showcasing fashion talents and the dynamism of African fashion.
