Applications for the BOI-LBS Business Innovation Accelerator Program for young Nigerians now open

The EIC has been renamed BOI-LBS Business Innovation Accelerator Program (BIA) in order to provide high-quality entrepreneurship training and empowerment to young Nigerians across the country’s six geopolitical zones. Unemployment has reached unacceptably high levels, making the Nigerian economy vulnerable. Youth unemployment has risen over the years, leading to increased insecurity, social vices, weak economic growth, inflation, and other challenges.

As a result, the BOI-LBS Business Innovation Accelerator is designed to increase job creation, considerably improve SME business success, and lower loan default rates owing to business failure. The Centre will also provide an ecosystem to help entrepreneurs in Nigeria develop and improve their technical, managerial, financial, and leadership skills.

The BOI-LBS company Innovation Accelerator was created to foster impact-driven entrepreneurs who employ for-profit company strategies to solve challenges and positively improve society. The program aspires to create a new generation of innovative and problem-solving entrepreneurs who will revolutionize society and revitalize the national economy by creating jobs and commercializing their solutions globally.

Prospective Clientele

For-profit entrepreneurs whose enterprises solve problems or positively affect society are among the target audience. NYSC members, university/polytechnic graduates, and prospective BOI clients (minimum qualification: SSCE) may be among them.

Selection and Eligibility Participant Selection Criteria
Potential volunteers will be evaluated using the following essential criteria:

Should have some business experience. Most significantly, the business should be scalable and solve a problem or meet a need.
Be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident.
Make yourself accessible to follow the training plan.
Youth and women will be given special attention.

Programme structure:

Classes on Entrepreneurship orientation and Business Management, will hold 3 days a week for 3 months as follows:
Tue, Wed, and Thu, every week
• Session 1: 10.00am – 11.15 am
• Break: 11.15am – 11.45 am
• Session 2: 11.45am – 1.00 pm
• Lunch break: 1.00pm – 2.00 pm
• Session 3: 2.00pm – 3.15 pm

Certification requirements:

To be eligible for a certificate, you must: • Attend at least 80% of the sessions in each course and score at least 60% in each course.
• Be of excellent character, as outlined in the training policy, which must be signed upon admission. • Fill out the online application form (upload certificates and two letters of recommendation)
