Apply for the Waislitz Global Citizen Award for ending extreme poverty ($250,000 cash prize)
The Waislitz Global Citizen Awards are annual cash prizes totaling $250,000 that honour individuals for their outstanding efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. The major prize is $100,000, plus two more $75,000 prizes for a total of three prizes. The Waislitz Foundation and Global Citizen are presenting the prizes, which are sponsored by Mesoblast Ltd. and Unico Capital Holdings, two leading US and Australian cellular therapies companies.
“It is not a choice; it is an obligation to end extreme poverty.” My aim is that it will inspire many thousands of individuals throughout the world to do all they can to better the living conditions of those in desperate need, » says Alex Waislitz, Chairman and Founder of the Melbourne-based Waislitz Foundation.
The Waislitz Foundation exists to make a positive social impact on a local and worldwide scale through innovative projects that enable individuals to reach their full potential and make a tangible difference in the world.
Requirements for Eligibility
Entrants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and must be from anywhere in the world.
Prizes Description
The 2023 Waislitz Global Citizen Awards will feature three awards totaling the sum of $250,000.
- $100,000: Waislitz Global Citizen Award (Grand Prize)
- $75,000: The Waislitz Global Citizen Disruptor Award
- $75,000: The Waislitz Global Citizens’ Choice Award
In addition the three winners will be profiled in editorial pieces to be be featured on the Global Citizen platform and social media.
