CcHub To host Getting Your Movies On International Streaming Platforms
The African film and audiovisual industry is fast becoming a major source of revenue and economic growth for the continent. According to UNESCO reports, the industry has contributed over $5 billion to the continent’s GDP, employs over 5 million people and has seen international streaming platforms like Netflix invest over $175 million into sub-Saharan Africa since 2016.
With all these successes, upcoming and emerging African filmmakers still struggle with distributing their already-produced content.
There is a knowledge gap between established filmmakers who have succeeded with their films, and aspiring and emerging filmmakers who are just starting out and are unaware of the right producers, distributors, and aggregators who can help them gain visibility with their content.
That’s why the Creative Economy Practice at CcHUB is hosting a virtual pan-African roundtable this Wednesday, September 11 titled “Getting Your Movies On International Streaming Platforms.”
