Commodities Market Update: Grains return gains to investors
Last week, most grain commodities closed in the green territory, returning gains to investors on the Exchange. Paddy rice led the performer’s chart closing 7.82% on a week-on-week basis. Soybean and Maize gained 2.38% and 2.14% respectively.
A similar movement was also observed in the open market as the same commodities closed higher. This is on the back of increasing demand for these commodities.
Reflecting market movements in export commodity prices, the AEI increased by 0.94% in the last trading week, closing at 200.30 index points.
Market Price Performance
- Grains closed higher on the Exchange in the last trading week, returning gains as investors priced higher executed contracts.
- A similar trend was observed in the open market as most grains closed higher. This is on the back of increasing demand for the commodities.
- In the International market, we observed gains across prices of most commodities. Paddy rice however topped the laggard chart, losing 2.32%.
