Facebook and Afrinolly to train 5,000 Nigeria creative entrepreneurs under Facebook for Creators Program
Facebook is partnering Afrinolly to empower 5,000 creative entrepreneurs and students on digital marketing skills. The project known as Known “ Facebook for Creators ” involves the training of film makers, artists, designers, photographers and students in journalism to use digital tools for their work.
The program has been designed to run in four locations namely Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna and Jos and is an expression of “Facebook’s commitment to help grow the Nigeria’s digital economy through the creative sector”, according to Facebooks program manager, Sherry Dzinoreva. She further said that Facebook remains committed to empowering aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to thrive in their professions.
To aid students who go through the program find good jobs, they will be certified by Facebook as “Blueprint” journalists.
The event which held at the Facebook hub on Montgomery Road in Yaba, Lagos attracted Afrinolly C.E.O, Jane Maduegbuna and Facebook’s Media Partnership representative, Sarah Brown, who both expressed optimism on the positive impact the program will make on the participants and in growing Nigeria’s digital economy.
