The Atlas Lions gave a very good account of themselves and only succumbed to experience. They will be leaving Qatar with their heads high and having earned respect and adoration for themselves, even from France. Morocco is the first African Country to make it to the semi finals of the World Cup and they did in style, conceding less goals in the tournament with a well oiled defense play until today that France beat them.
With these victory, France will confront Argentina in the finals on Sunday while Morocco will face Croatia to decide the third place. It also makes France the first country in 20 years to qualify for the world cup final match back to back. The last country to do so was Brazil, 20 years ago.
Thus, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, teammates at PSG, are slated for a confrontation when France and Argentina square off in the World Cup 2022 championship game on Sunday. The two superstars are also contenders for this year’s Golden Boot, which goes to the contestant with the most goals scored. Both have five goals total so far.
