Japan wins first gold of Tokyo 2020 Olympics as Team USA and Team UK are yet to register on the medals list

Japan’s TAKATO Naohisa  has won Japan’s first gold medal of the Games! in Judo. The bronze medals go to Yeldos Smetov (KAZ) and Luka Mkheidze (FRA).

All together 19 Countries have registered on the medals list by winning either Gold, Silver or Bronze.

Team USA and team UK are yet to win a medal and so are not yet on the medals table. China is leading so far with 3 Gold medals and 1 Bronze. Italy and Japan are tied on the second spot with 1 Gold and I Bronze medals each.

No African team has won a medal yet.

Six other countries have one gold medal each. They are Ecuador, South Korea, Hungary, Kosovo, Iran and Thailand.
