Kanade is the new Head of Siemens Healthineers Middle East and Africa operations
Vivek Kanade has been appointed as the new Head for Siemens Healthineers’ business/operations in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The appointment, which takes effect on December 4, 2023, comes after the company decided to combine its operations throughout the Middle East and Africa in order to better serve the diverse needs of healthcare providers and communities.
Kanade is a seasoned employee of Siemens, having worked at the company for almost thirty years in a variety of roles and locations. Kanade was the Head at Siemens Healthineers for India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and the Maldives before taking on the job of Head of Strategy for the company’s vast Asia Pacific Japan region. At the same time, he actively advised the Indian medical technology business while serving as Co-Chair of NatHealth in India.
In response to the announcement, Vivek Kanade stated: “This structural consolidation allows us to pool our strengths in following our core objectives, which include enhancing Access to Care and paving the way for better healthcare infrastructures in our markets, as we strengthen our role as a trusted healthcare partner in this diverse growth region.” I am thrilled to begin this new role and feel humbled by it. I also look forward to combining our skills with those of the new zone to improve the lives of millions of patients across the Middle East and Africa.
In his present role, Kanade hopes to make an even greater difference in the lives of patients by expanding patient interactions and taking advantage of the variety of opportunities in the Middle East and Africa, two economically hard growing markets.
Access to Care, a Siemens Healthineers program centered on providing healthcare to everyone, everywhere, will be a part of this goal and a significant emphasis area. In order to have a long-lasting effect where it is most needed, the program calls for enhancing the infrastructure of the healthcare system, addressing the scarcity of trained personnel, and making healthcare services available to underserved and rural regions.
Kanade continued, “We aim to create better outcomes and experiences for patients, no matter where they live, by fighting the most threatening diseases, rethinking the value chain, and accelerating global development.” In particular, we’re concentrating on initiatives that, by opening up new markets, developing capacity, and guaranteeing community reach, are both scalable and align with our goal while having an effect on the local community.
