Kerosene now sells above N1,000 per liter in the country
The retail price of kerosene in Nigeria has climbed above N1,000 per liter. The poor man’s cooking fuel now sold for an average retail price of N1,041.05 per litre in October according to the Nigeria bureau of Statistics. Cross River had the highest average price for a gallon of kerosene in October 2022, coming in at N1,304.17. Enugu was second with N1,300, while Lagos came in at N1,294.44. Borno State recorded the lowest price at N783.33, followed by Rivers at N804.17 and Bayelsa at N805.67.
The South-East and South-West both had the highest average retail prices for a litre of kerosene, respectively, at N1,191.14 and N1,142.60. The lowest is in the North-East at N905.18/l.
