Lagos State Planning and Environmental Monitoring Authority partners eTranzact to curb unregulated development
The Lagos State Planning and Environmental Monitoring Authority (LASPEMA) has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with eTranzact PLC to prevent unauthorized development in the State’s incidental open spaces.
The Special Adviser on EGIS and Planning Matters, Mr. Olajide Babatunde, who represented the Commissioner of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Omotayo Bankoshe Martins, attended the event, which took place at the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Alausa.
Mr. Babatunde welcomed the public-private sector initiative and spoke of the Ministry’s desire to drive much-needed meaningful infrastructural development within the State through such partnerships, with the unwavering support of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu’s leadership, who has endorsed the initiative.
Mr. Daisi Osho, General Manager of LASPEMA, stated in his remarks that the agency was tasked with addressing difficulties related with controlling and regulating operations on setbacks to maintain orderliness while leveraging technology provided by eTranzact. He stated that the MOU would help LASPEMA get started.
Niyi Toluwalope, MD/CEO of eTranzact PLC, praised the collaboration and relationship with LASPEMA in his remarks. He stated that eTranzact is pleased that the Lagos State Government has taken the commendable step of identifying setbacks, enumerating the persons affected by these setbacks, collecting the relevant data, and managing the complete setback infrastructure in the state. “This will vastly improve beautification, ensure transparency within the environment, and ensure that critical urban infrastructure is well laid out in the proper manner to ensure Lagos functions as a major critical landmark with global recognition,” he added. He stated that eTranzact is dedicated to collaborating with the State government to create a beautiful and profitable Smart City for all.
Sunday Agboola (Group Head, Public Sector, South); Eme Godwin (Group Head, Legal Services); Emmanuel Ogunji (Chief Financial Officer); Victor Adeliyi (Head, Education Collections); and Ayodeji Afolabi (Business Development Manager, Public Sector Collections) were also present at the MOU signing ceremony.
