William is a storyteller, screenwriter, and instructor. He earned his B.F.A. from New York University’s Playwrights Horizons Theater School. He is a member of the Writers Guild of America, the Television Academy, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Writers Branch.
He has written screenplays for six films, including Queen of Katwe, a Disney feature starring David Oyelowo and Lupita Nyong’o; The Reluctant Fundamentalist, directed by Mira Nair and starring Rizwan Ahmed; and The Hoax, directed by Lasse Hallstrom and starring Richard Gere.
His feature films have grossed over $250,000,000 at the global box office. He also mentored and trained filmmakers. Natasha Kimani, Africa No Filter’s Head of Partnerships and Research, will host the masterclass.
