Minister of Sports Receives Africa Sustainable Leadership Man of the Year Award 2023
The Honorable Minister of Sports Development for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator John Owan Enoh, was selected as the Africa Sustainable Leadership Man of the Year at the 17th edition of the Sustainability, Enterprise and Responsibility Awards, or SERAS, which took place on December 15, 2023, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria, among a distinguished group of notable leaders of African descent.
Under his management, the Nigerian sports ministry is undergoing an unprecedented transformation for the better, with well-defined policy directives and a remarkable dedication to restoring all aspects of the country’s sports ecosystem for the benefit of all Nigerians.
The Sports Minister’s six-point strategy, known as WAIFAR, focuses on sports development and sustainable livelihoods, among other SDGs that sports positively impact.
Through the decades-long humanitarian efforts of the JOE Foundation, he has consistently freed the peoples of Africa from the death penalty of poverty, unending reliance, and underdevelopment.
The leadership and ability of Senator Enoh are extraordinary. We have optimism for Nigeria’s and Africa’s future because of people like him.
