Nestle announces appointment of Remy Ejel as new non-executive director – Nairametrics
Nestle Nigeria Plc, in a notification to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) by its Secretary, Bode Ayeku, has announced the appointment of Remy Ejel as a non-executive director and his appointment takes effect on July 1, 2018.
He is to replace Kais Marzouki, a non-executive director, as Market Head of West Africa Regoin. This is as Kais moves to take up the role of the company’s Market Head, Philippines.
Ejel, who currently serve as Market Head of Southern Africa Region, has earlier worked in the West African Region as Commercial Manager for Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo, and Benin. He also served in the capacity of Assistant Regional Manager, Country Manager in Oman and Saudi Arabia, and Business Executive Manager, Confectionery.
Marzouki serves as the Head of Nestle Central and West Africa Region at Nestle Nigeria Plc. He held various positions within the Nestlé Group including General Business Manager for Jordan and Lebanon in 2001 and 2003 respectively, Regional Sales Director for Southern and Eastern African Region from 2005 to 2008, Global Channel Category Manager, SBU- Food of Nestlé S.A. from 2008 to 2009, Regional Sales Director for Nestle Oceania Region from 2009 to 2011, Business Executive Manager Coffee and Beverages in Nestle Oceania from 2011 to 2013. He started his working career in Nestlé Group in 1995 in Brand Management in Switzerland. He holds a European Master’s in Management Degree.
Recall that Nairametrics recently reported that Nestle was among other companies bidding for GlaxoSmithKline’s Horlicks malted drinks business segment.
At the company’s 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos, shareholders request amongst other things the payment of bonus dividend, the inclusion of inclusion of more female in the board of directors, and also the appointment of minority representative into the board.
