NGX All-Share Index loses 0.25% Monday
Starting the week, the Lagos bourse halted its six-day winning streak as the All-Share Index lost 0.25% to settle at 47,436.45 points. Selloffs in industrial heavyweight, BUACEMENT (-2.78%) offset gains in Tier-1 banking names, ZENITHBANK (+0.46) and STANBIC (+4.08) driving the market’s weak performance. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return fell to 11.05%, while market capitalization lost ₦64.21bn to close at ₦25.84trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by -71.71%. A total of 279.28m shares valued at ₦1.56bn were exchanged in 3,781 deals. REGALINS (-4.00%) led the volume chart with 97.63m units traded while BUACEMENT (-2.78%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦268.67m.
Market breadth closed flat. NEM (+9.22%) topped twelve (12) others on the gainer’s table while JAIZBANK (-6.82%) led twelve (12) others on the laggard’s log.
