Comrade Joseph Ajaero emerged the consensus candidate at the end of NLC’s 13th National Delegates Conference held in Abuja. The National Administrative Council (NAC), which includes Ajaero and other members, will oversee congress affairs for the ensuing four years.
In order to eliminate needless politicking and employer impunity and lessen the pain of Nigerian workers, the incoming MLC president has pledged to pursue a new national minimum wage law that will take into account the concrete realities of the nation’s social-economic circumstances.
The new NLC President has has been congratulated by President Muhammadu Buhari for becoming the new leader of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). The president also praised the national executive committee of the NLC for the success of the congress that produced the new leadership in a statement released by the president’s spokeswoman, Garba Shehu.
