Nigerian Stock Market gains 0.02% and market capitalization up by N6 billion on Thursday
The NGX All Share index closed marginally higher (+0.02%) at 52,626.42 points on Thursday. As a result the market capitalization increased by N5.94 billion to close at N28.66 trillion while the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 2.68%.
Trade turnover ended up being smaller than it was during Wednesday’s session, with a 59.32% decrease in transaction value. A total of 3,183 transactions totaling 129.04 million shares worth N1.82 billion were traded.
ZENITHBANK (-0.20%), GTCO (-0.41%), and UBA (-1.23%) saw losses, which were partially offset by gains in WAPCO (+1.02%), ACCESSCORP (+0.56%), and ETI (+1.30%). With 18.55 million units exchanged in transactions worth 455.74 million, ZENITHBANK (-0.20%) topped the volume and value charts.
