Nigerian stock market gains 0.13% on Thursday
The Nigerian stock market gained 0.13% on Thursday to close at 66,570.19 points. As a result, the market is expected to experience weekly gains. The year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 29.89% as a result, and the market capitalization increased by N140.77 billion dollars to close at N36.53 trillion.
The market remained positive as gains from ACCESSCORP (+0.31%), WAPCO (+0.51%), and UBA (+0.30%) helped to offset losses from FLOURMILL (-1.52%), TRANSCORP (-0.33%), and UCAP (-1.16%). On the leader’s log, WEMABANK (+9.93%) was in front of fifteen (15) rivals, while CHAMPION (-9.87%) was in front of eleven (11) rivals on the laggard’s table.
The value of transactions increased by 2.95% today while trade turnover settled higher than it had the day before. In total, 6,959 transactions involved 1.01 billion shares worth N4.73 billion. With 657.09m units exchanged in transactions totaling 985.65m, NEIMETH (+0.00%) topped the volume and value charts.
