Nigerian stock market gains 0.16% on Thursday
The Nigerian stock market recovered from Wednesday loss to gain 0.16% on Thursday and closed at 66,548.99 points. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 29.85%, and the market capitalization increased by N59.91 billion dollars to close at N36.42 trillion.
Nigerian stock market gains
The market remained positive as gains from GTCO (+1.10%), SEPLAT (+9.95%), and STANBIC (+3.67%) helped to offset losses from WAPCO (-0.17%), DANGSUGAR (-5.66%), and INTBREW (-6.52%).
Trade turnover decreased in comparison to the prior session, with a 7.83% decrease in transaction value. 7,972 transactions involving 620.98 million shares worth N7.18 billion were completed. With 160.99 million units exchanged, STERLINGNG (+0.60%) topped the volume chart, while TRANSCORP (-3.80%) topped the value list with transactions totaling 847.54 million.
On the leader’s table, NGXGROUP (+10.00%) outperformed nineteen (19) rivals, while MULTIVERSE (-10.00%) outperformed seventeen (17) rivals.
