Nigerian stock market gains 0.43% (N158.34 billion) on Tuesday
The Nigerian stock market gained 0.43% on Tuesday to close at 67,326.12 points. Thus, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 31.37%, and the market capitalization increased by N158.34 billion to close at N36.99 trillion.
The market remained positive as gains in Tier-1 Banking Names including ZENITHBANK (+2.64%), GTCO (+1.15%), and STANBIC (+5.56%) helped to offset losses in NB (-7.38%), ETI (-1.30%), and PRESCO (-0.55%). Twenty-two (22) other players were surpassed by JBERGER (+10.00%) on the leader’s table, while MULTIVERSE (-9.49%) was ahead of fifteen (15) other players on the laggard’s table.
The value of transactions increased by 45.57% as a result of today’s market activity analysis, indicating that trade turnover settled higher than it did on Monday. In total, 6,729 transactions involved 377.97 million shares worth N5.17 billion. With 42.30 million units exchanged in transactions for 796.36 million, UBA (+3.06%) topped the value and volume charts.
