Nigerian stock market NGX All-Share Index losses 0.47% on Wednesday
The Nigerian stock market NGX All-Share Index lost 0.47% to close lower at 64,625.28 points today Wednesday. As a result, the YTD return fell to 26.10%, while the market capitalization increased N13.28 billion to conclude at N35.37 trillion.
The market’s poor performance was fueled by selloffs in telco heavyweight AIRTELAFRI (-5.30%), GTCO (-0.53%), and ACCESSCORP (-0.59%). Trade turnover settled higher than Tuesday’s trading session with the value of transactions increasing by 59.99%. In 6,213 transactions, 291.71 million shares worth N7.43 billion were swapped.
GTCO (-0.53%) dominated the volume chart with 41.75 million units traded, while AIRTELAFRI (-5.30%) won the value chart with transactions totaling N1.82 billion. NEM (-10.00%) outperformed seventeen (17) other laggards, while ETERNA (+10.00%) outperformed twelve (12) other leaders.
