Nnenna Onyewuchi Appointed Dean of Future Creative Leaders Academy (FCLA) 2022
Pitcher Festival of Creativity has announced the appointment of Nnenna Onywuchi as the 2022 Dean of its flagship Future Creative Leaders Academy.
The Academy is an intensive professional immersion programme for students in tertiary institutions who intend to take up careers in advertising and related fields on graduation and has been a pathway to the Cannes Lions Roger Hatchuel Students Academy in France and the Google Campus in Mountainview, California, USA.
Nnenna has over 20 years’ experience in marketing communications. She started her career at McCann Erickson, New York, managing business development activities for the New York office and coordinating offices across the network for global pitches. From there, she moved into Strategic Planning where she rose to the position of Vice President. While at McCann, she helped conceive Tag Ideation, a lifestyle marketing practice group, developing a set of proprietary research tools and co-designing a proprietary branding model. She returned to Nigeria in 2004.
Since returning to Nigeria, Nnenna has worked in advertising, experiential marketing and content development. After holding positions at Chris Parkes Marketing Solutions, Small World Media, HiTV and TBWA/Concept, Nnenna joined ZK Advertising in 2007. In her second year at ZK, Nnenna also took on the role of Creative Director, developing award-winning advertising for a variety of clients. In 2011, Nnenna and her partners took over the agency, rebranding it as Yellow Brick Road and growing it into one of Nigeria’s most respected agencies.
Over the course of her career, Nnenna has worked on a multitude of brands across numerous categories including, Coca Cola, Absolut, Kohl’s Department Stores, Sharpie, Microsoft, Xbox, British American Tobacco, Dangote, Paga, BlackBerry, Jumia, Oando, Access Bank, FCMB, FirstBank, Canon, MTV Base, Celtel, Zain, Glo, MTN, Girl Effect and UNICEF.
Nnenna sits on several boards and is Chairperson of the Board of West African Vocational Education, a non-profit committed to ending youth unemployment in the West African sub-region.
