Now Accepting Entries: The African Union Commission (AUC)-EU Skills Initiative for Africa funding Window III
The Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) Financing Cooperation (FC), a pan-African initiative launched in 2016 by the African Union Commission (AUC) and co-funded by the German government and the European Union (EU), is responsible for implementing the SIFA Funding Window III (FW3), which is supported by national governments in the eight SIFA partner countries of Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Togo, and Tunisia. SIFA’s overarching goal is to improve young people’s employment opportunities in Africa. For the duration of its experimental phase (2016–2025), the program funds initiatives aimed at helping young people in African nations strengthen their employability skills.
In order to improve the employment possibilities for young people in Africa, the German government supports SIFA, an initiative of the African Union Commission (AUC). Several African nations get funding from SIFA for skill-development initiatives. Projects ought to help young people gain skills that are relevant to the workforce.

Eligible Applicants
Professional TVETs from the private and and public sector organizations, the academia, civil societies, and civil organizations supporting entrepreneurship
Grant details:
- Successful projects will receive grants between EUR 0.2 to 3mn for sustainable and innovative initiatives.
Funding is targeted towards the implementation of the innovation, and hence will not support the following:
• projects exclusively focusing on research
• projects exclusively focusing on market surveys
• projects exclusively focusing on policy development
• projects exclusively focusing on capacity building
• projects exclusively focusing on building infrastructure
