Samsung announces launch of Samsung food
A personalised, AI-powered food and recipe platform called Samsung Food has been launched, according to Samsung Electronics.
With more than 160,000 recipes available, Samsung Food will provide full food experiences when it launches in 104 countries and eight languages. Samsung Food serves as a personalised assistant that aids users in discovering new foods, making custom meal plans, and placing online orders for ingredients.
The programme will also enable users to manage their kitchen appliances, provide step-by-step cooking instructions, and post favourite recipes on social media.
Samsung Food employs AI technology to go above and beyond current capabilities and provide a food platform that really adapts to the demands and lifestyles of its customers. Samsung Food is built on the foundation of Samsung’s extensive line of cooking appliances and food services.
In order to do this, Samsung Food makes use of the vast database of Whisk, a smart food platform that Samsung Next purchased in 2019 and which makes use of cutting-edge technology known as Food AI. Food AI offers meals based on user preferences and food seasonality.

Four core aspects of Samsung Food’s extensive feature set—recipe discovery and personalization, customised meal planning, connected cooking, and social sharing capabilities—support customers at every stage of the meal planning and preparation process.
Samsung Food offers consumers the flexibility to add recipes to their personal digital recipe box whenever and wherever they choose. To generate shopping lists based on ingredients, the software analyses recipes, standardises their format, and arranges them. Customers can use their Bespoke Family HubTM refrigerators to access the Samsung Food service in addition to mobile devices. Samsung Food, which can be accessed through the Family HubTM touchscreen, offers recipe suggestions based on a user-managed list of the foods that are readily available.
Additionally, Samsung Food has a Personalise Recipe feature that allows the app’s Food AI to immediately alter a saved recipe to more accurately suit users’ dietary needs.
For instance, users can alter a recipe to make it vegan or vegetarian, add other ingredients, make it more nutritionally balanced, or use ingredients they already have on hand. Users will even be able to modify the cook time or skill level of recipes and develop fusion meals, such as Korean renditions of Italian cuisine.
The software generates AI-generated recommendations based on user data, dietary habits, and preferred cuisine types to help users create personalised daily meal plans, and users may add these recommendations to their meal planner. Users can add goods to their Samsung Food shopping list and send it directly to an online retailer’s checkout at any moment, and nutritional analysis of ingredients are always available.
Through step-by-step guided cooking modes, users of connected cooking can control appliances remotely from their portable devices, setting timers, preheating ovens, and sending cook settings for recipes. By the end of the year, Samsung intends to connect a variety of appliances, beginning with the Bespoke Oven, to Samsung Food to increase convenience for users in kitchen
Users may easily become social on Samsung Food by following their favourite food content producers, publishing their own recipes, and sharing their favourite dishes with the community.
For an even more seamless and complete personal meal experience, Samsung will keep introducing additional features and services to the app in addition to the Samsung meal capabilities available at launch. Samsung intends to integrate Samsung Health with Samsung Food by the end of the year so that consumers can get advice on managing their diets. Users will be able to reach their health objectives and keep up a healthy diet thanks to the seamless syncing of information from Samsung Food, including BMI, body composition, and calorie consumption.
Vision AI technology will enable Samsung Food to identify food products and meals captured through the camera and deliver details about them, including nutrition information. This technology is scheduled for implementation in 2024.
With just a few taps, the app can analyse food items, suggest the best recipes to use them in, add these recipes to the user’s library, and add the necessary ingredients to a shopping list.
