The list of top universities in Africa for 2021/2022 as compiled by US News & World Report has South African Universities topping the list with the first four slots and a total of ten on the list of top 65 Universities in Africa. These first four slots are occupied by the University of Cape Town, the University of Witwatersrand, Stellenbosch University and the University of KwaZulu Natal

There are four Nigerian Universities on the list of the top 65 Universities in Africa with the University of Ibadan at Number 7, Obafemi Awolowo University at number 43, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, at number 47 and the University of Lagos at number 63.
