Sokoto State Governor Inaugurates Ease of Doing Business Council
The Sokoto State Governor, Governor Ahmed Aliyu, has inaugurated the States’ Ease of Doing Business Council and expressed the government’s dedication to accelerating development and creating a favorable business environment. At the inauguration, he emphasized the importance of financial management in expanding infrastructure and implementing empowerment initiatives.
The Governor called on the private sector to invest in the state’s economy and announced plans for partnerships with financial institutions to provide loans for small and medium-sized enterprises. The state also aims to attract foreign investors through incentives. The Governor assured efforts to revive struggling industries and improve the agricultural sector.
The Executive Governor further stated that his administration would partner NEXIM Bank, the Bank of Industry (BOI), NIRSAL Microfinance Bank and Bank of Agriculture (BOA), among other to provide loans for SMEs operating in the state.
The council, chaired by Deputy Governor Eng. Muhammad Idris Gobir, consists of key members from various sectors, indicating a commitment to effective governance and collaboration.
