Stock market closes the week great as the All Share index gains 1.46% on Friday
The Nigerian stock market concluded the week on a positive note as the All-Share index rose by 1.46% to close at 99,587.25 points on Friday. Throughout the week, MTNN, ZENITHBANK, and GTCO recorded gains, offsetting the losses in SEPLAT, DANGSUGAR, and NB. As a result, the year-to-date return increased to 33.18%, and the market capitalization gained ₦811.48bn to close at ₦56.32tn.
In today’s trading session, there was renewed interest in MTNN, ZENITHBANK, and GTCO, leading to the market’s strong performance. However, there was a selloff in TRANSCORP, ACCESSCORP, and ETI.
Trade turnover was higher compared to Thursday’s session with the value of transactions increasing by 28.14%. A total of 446.57m shares valued at ₦7.10bn were exchanged in 9,297 deals. ACCESSCORP led the volume and value chart with 151.80m units traded in deals worth ₦2.68bn. DANGSUGAR emerged as the top gainer among twenty-eight others, while CONOIL led nineteen others as the top decliner.
