Stock market investors gain N44.16 billion as All-Share Index rises by 0.11% on Thursday
Investors in the Nigerian stock market gained N44.16 billion share appreciation on Thursday as the all share index rose by 0.11% to end at 71,365.25 points. Consequently, the market capitalization increased by ₦44.16bn to end at ₦39.05trn, and the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 39.25%.
The overall market’s performance was driven by gains in telco heavyweight AIRTELAFRI (+0.56%), along with GTCO (+1.43%) and ACCESSCORP (+0.56%), offsetting losses in DANGSUGAR (-1.69%), FIDELITYBK (-0.56%), and ZENITHBANK (-2.71%). On the laggard’s table, NSLTECH (-9.72%) was ahead of thirty (30) others, while on the leader’s log, NNFM (+10.00%) was ahead of twenty-four (24) others
Trade turnover settled at a greater level than it did on Wednesday with a 54.95% increase in transaction value. 6,516 transactions totaling 540.09 million shares, valued at ₦10.24 billion, were completed. GTCO (+1.43%) topped the value and volume charts, trading 67.23 million units in deals valued at ₦2.60 billion.
