Tekedia Institute Introduces a new course – Learner Investment Fund and Portfolio Management Program
Tekedia Institute is launching a new course, the Learner Investment Fund and Portfolio Management Program, that will teach students about investing both theoretically and practically.
The Learner Investment Fund and Portfolio Management program’s goal is to give students practical experience conducting investment research, investing money, and managing a portfolio while they are enrolled in classes at Tekedia Institute.
The academic component of the program educates students to comprehend the institutional framework and the core ideas of asset valuation in the financial markets while employing analytical methods to research the valuation of various securities. Learners are fundamentally prepared to comprehend investing theory, portfolio construction, and management.
By applying analytical techniques to explore the valuation of various types of securities, the program’s academic component enables students to comprehend the institutional framework and fundamental ideas of asset valuation in financial markets. Learners are fundamentally prepared to comprehend portfolio development and management, investing theory, and related concepts.
In the practical laboratory portion, students create new investment ideas, study new opportunities, and make recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evaluations. They also evaluate individual and group portfolio compositions and prior performances. After the groups have presented their ideas to the class as a whole, more voting is conducted on these suggestions. The recommended assets are then bought with real money on the Nigerian and US stock exchanges; Tekedia has set aside $50,000 for that.
Investment Fundamental and Tools, Laboratories and Research, Investment Execution, and Lessons Learned comprise the program’s main four phases. The first edition will start on March 6, 2023, last for 12 weeks (covering the first three phases), and then the students will meet again for another 3 weeks roughly 6 months later (covers the last phase).
