The Nigeria stock market ASI maintains bullish run increasing by 0.12% Thursday

The benchmark index for Nigerian equities increased by 0.12% to close at 48,426.49 points, the highest level since October 5, 2022, as the country’s stocks continued their strong upward trend. Losses in ZENITHBANK (-0.23%), GTCO (-0.24%), and UBA (-0.68%) were offset by investor interest in NESTLE (+1.67%), NB (+4.62%), and GEREGU (+2.78%). Thus, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 13.37%, and the market capitalization increased by 32.57 billion dollars to close at 26.38 trillion.

A review of today’s market activity revealed that trade turnover was lower than it had been during the previous session, with a 5.55% decrease in transaction value. In a total of 2,810 transactions, 146.21 million shares worth £3.36 billion were exchanged. With 59.27 million units traded, FBNH (+0.00%) dominated the volume chart, and GEREGU (+2.78%) led the value chart with transactions totaling $1.53 billion.

With a ratio of 1.45 to 1, market breadth closed in the negative, with more decreasing issues than gaining. While JAPAULGOLD (+7.41%) led ten (10) other companies on the gainer’s log, UNITYBNK (-7.02%) led fifteen (15) other companies on the laggard’s table.
