The stock market gains another 0.51% on Tuesday
The Nigerian stock market gained another 0.51% on Tuesday to close at 66,490.34 points. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 29.73%, while the market capitalization increased by N185.52 billion to close at N36.39 trillion.
The key drivers of the market’s overall performance were gains in ZENITHBANK (+2.29%), GTCO (+1.81%), and ACCESSCORP (+3.44%), which outweighed losses in NESTLE (-5.98%), STANBIC (-2.64%), and UBA (-0.36%).
Trade turnover settled higher it did on Monday with the value of transactions increasing by 79.14%. In 7,932 transactions, 436.96 million shares worth N7.01 billion were swapped. With 55.15 million units traded, FBNH (+1.51%) dominated the volume chart, while NESTLE (-5.98%) won the value chart with trades worth N1.32 billion.
FLOURMILL (+10.00%) was first on the leader’s board, followed by twenty-seven (27) others, while LINKASSURE (-10.00%) was first on the laggard’s board, followed by nineteen (19) others.
