Tony Elumelu Foundation Disbursed over $85m to over 18,000 African Entrepreneurs
According to Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu, the CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, TEF has disbursed well over $85m to over 18,000 African entrepreneurs from inception to date. Ugochukwu made this point while unveiling the 2022 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs.
She said that this done as a part of TEF mission to bringing prosperity to the African continent by generating jobs, reducing poverty, and empowering women. Through their inventiveness and imagination, these young people are altering Africa one community at a time by generating money and jobs.
Our respected partners, she continued, who are dedicated to the advancement of Africa and actively contributing to the continent’s sustainable development, made this great accomplishment possible. She gave a special tribute to the TEF partners that worked this year to scale the Foundation’s impact: Theses partners include “H.E. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi; President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the United States African Development Foundation (USADF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Mali, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Rwanda, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), SightSavers and the African Education Foundation (FAE Africa) in Congo Brazaville”, Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu added.
Meanwhile, the Tony Elumelu Foundation has released the list of Entrepreneurs who made the 2022 cohort.
