UNECA and Kaduna State Government Train members of KADRIMA on New Pensioner Verification App
The UNECA, in partnership with the Kaduna State Government, has successfully organized a training program for 43 employees from the Kaduna State Residents Identity Management Agency (KADRIMA) and the Kaduna State Pension Bureau. The objective of this training is to equip the staff with the necessary skills to effectively utilize the newly developed Pensioner Verification App, which has been designed to streamline the identification and verification process for pensioners.
The training session took place at the KADRIMA head office and included 39 KADRIMA staff members, consisting of 23 field officers and 19 headquarters staff, as well as 4 key staff members from the Pension Bureau. This initiative is part of the state government’s broader strategy to digitize and enhance the efficiency of government services, ensuring that pensioners receive timely and hassle-free verification.

- Hands-On App Training: Participants received comprehensive instructions on how to use the app, including the registration process, biometric verification, and troubleshooting.
- Field Application: Practical sessions were conducted to prepare field officers to assist pensioners in remote and rural areas who may require assistance with the verification process or do not have access to Android devices.
- Data Management: The training covered the integration of the app with the state’s Master Data Management system, ensuring secure and efficient handling of data.
- Feedback and Improvement: Participants were encouraged to provide feedback to enhance the functionality and user experience of the app.
Overall, this training program has equipped the staff members with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively utilize the Pensioner Verification App, contributing to the digitalization and efficiency of government services in Kaduna State.
Mr. Muhammed Jibrin Bamalli, the Acting ES KADRIMA, expressed his excitement, emphasizing that this training is a crucial milestone in their mission to enhance service delivery through technology. He believes that the Pensioner Verification App will greatly alleviate the burden on pensioners and streamline the verification process, making it more efficient.
Ms. Salamatu Isah, the Head of the Pension Bureau, hailed the introduction of this app as a game-changer for their pension verification process. She expressed gratitude for the support received from the ECA and expressed confidence that this technological advancement will bring about positive changes for pensioners.
Ms. Dobrina Poirier, an Economic Affairs Officer from UNECA, proudly acknowledged the successful implementation of this project. She commended the dedication and commitment of KADRIMA and the Pension Bureau in driving forward the use of digital IDs to transform public service delivery.
