Verve, one of the major domestic payment card and token brands in Africa, and leading global sportswear giant adidas have announced a substantial partnership that will elevate the sixth (6th) edition of VerveLife, one of the continent’s largest fitness festival series.
VerveLife, the flagship lifestyle passion-point engagement promoted by Africa’s largest home-grown payment card brand, has grown in leaps and bounds to become well-known as one of Africa’s biggest fitness networks since its launch six years ago. Backed by audacious aspirations to completely revolutionize fitness and wellness in Nigeria while encouraging a healthy lifestyle among not only Verve’s teeming cardholder base, but also millions of fitness enthusiasts in general, VerveLife was founded with the ambitious goal
Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications at Interswitch Group, discussed the most recent partnership with adidas while reiterating VerveLife’s commitment to encouraging exercise, healthy living, and wellness.
“We are greatly pleased to welcome adidas on board as one of our partners for VerveLife 6.0,” she said in the statement. With an innovative strategy that combines workout, entertainment, and nutritious cuisine in a format that leaves participants wanting more, we continue to effectively create remarkable experiences that surpass the expectations of fitness enthusiasts in these climates year after year. We are pushing the bar even higher in 2023, and collaborating with an internationally famous and reliable partner like adidas strengthens our determination as we jointly promote leading more active and healthy lifestyles for African customers alike.
Brett Burgess, Commercial Director Africa at adidas, also commented on the collaboration with Verve, saying, “We are excited by our partnership with VerveLife as we continue to increase our Brand presence in Nigeria. We think that this relationship will be a great way for us to interact with Nigeria’s fitness consumers.
We aim to provide the VerveLife community with a world-class Brand experience at the final event through our Nigerian Partners, BrandCo, in an effort to surpass the 3-stripes in their hearts. This occasion will solidify our conviction that “Through Sport, we Have the Power to Change Lives.”
In addition to a multi-city train of satellite fitness events pan-Nigeria, touching over seven cities across West and East Africa this year, noteworthy highlights of the Verve Life fitness platform include challenging high-intensity workout sessions and dance routines led by renowned fitness experts and dance instructors from across Africa, fitness challenges, and immersive masterclasses on nutrition, mental wellness, and other related topics.
The partnership between Verve and adidas was inspired by their mutual love of fitness, and it will bring many exciting benefits to the VerveLife community, including free adidas products, product discounts, access to special events, and much more.
The fast-growing platform is anticipated to make its debut in Uganda after making its debut in Nairobi, Kenya, last year. Its inaugural event in Kampala is scheduled to take place in October.
The VerveLife events have increased in size and quality with each passing year, starting out as a single event in Lagos and eventually expanding to three (3) other nations on the continent.
In keeping with Interswitch’s “Never Stop” corporate philosophy, Verve International, a division of the Interswitch Group, reaffirms its dedication to constantly enhancing the Verve Life series’ quality, experience, and impact. Verve International’s goal is to continue innovating and inspiring Africa and Africans to greatness. The initiative’s steady progress to date demonstrates Verve’s dedication to encouraging its cardholders’ healthy lifestyle practices while also offering them—and all Africans—innovative payment choices.
