You are invited to Equator Prize 2021 Award Ceremony on 4 October
The Equator Initiative is excited to announce the Equator Prize 2021 Award Ceremony on 4 October 2021 at 11 AM EDT (GMT-04) as part of the first day of the virtual Nature for Life Hub. Watch the event live as part of the Nature for Life Hub 2021 here.
The ceremony will feature the ten winners of the Equator Prize 2021,
coming from nine countries from around the world. The event will
celebrate outstanding Indigenous peoples and local communities advancing
innovative solutions for sustainable food systems, climate resilience,
and a new nature-positive economy. The winners’ nature-based solutions
show that blueprints to solve our planetary emergency already exist –
all while also contributing to green recovery from the pandemic.
The event will feature videos about all the winners, award presentations
and statements by celebrities and the winners themselves, and musical
performances. The ceremony will be free to stream live and will be
available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Kyrgyz.
This year’s winners include groups based in Brazil, Bolivia, Cameroon,
Costa Rica, Ecuador, India, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, and Niger.
Join us in honoring the ten Equator Prize 2021 winners by watching the
event and sharing your support on social media with #EquatorPrize and
