Zenith Bank Named Best Bank in Nigeria for the Fourth Year by the Global Finance Best Banks Awards 2024
Zenith Bank Plc has been named the Best Bank in Nigeria in the Global Finance Best Banks Awards 2024, marking its fourth win since 2019. The bank was among those recognized by Global Finance from 36 African countries in its 31st Annual Best Bank Awards Winners announcement.
The selections were made by the editors of Global Finance after extensive consultations with corporate financial executives, bankers, banking consultants, and analysts worldwide. Criteria for selecting the top banks included both objective factors such as growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, new business development, and product innovation, as well as subjective factors like the opinions of equity analysts, credit rating analysts, banking consultants, and industry insiders.
In response to the award, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, the outgoing Group Managing Director/Chief Executive of Zenith Bank, expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the bank’s resilience and dedication to delivering value to stakeholders. He credited the founder and chairman, Jim Ovia, CFR, for his vision in establishing a strong financial institution, and praised the board, staff, and customers for their contributions to Zenith Bank’s success.

In the same awards ceremony, we were also awarded as the Best Commercial Bank and for Best Innovation in Retail Banking in Nigeria for the year 2022.
