In order to find, qualify, and certify elite engineers, Andela, a worldwide network for remote technical talent, has acquired Qualified, the premier technical skills testing platform. With the acquisition of more than 3.6M engineering users from Codewars, a Qualified-powered online community that allows technical talent to compete and hone their practical coding abilities in gamified challenges, Andela’s worldwide talent network will also grow.
With the acquisition of Qualified, Jeremy Johnson, the company’s founder and CEO, claimed that Andela “expands and accelerates our capacity to source and accurately assess personnel.
Labor markets are hampered by inefficiencies in supply, demand, and quality; by supplying the certified correct talent at the appropriate moment, Qualified enables us to overcome these inefficiencies. Regardless of where they live and work, businesses will continue to have faith that the talent they find through Andela has the necessary skills.
The co-founder and CEO of Qualified, Jake Hoffner, continued, “Hiring procedures that have previously been used in the computer business have been shown to be unproductive. With the enhanced platform, employers will be able to design hiring procedures for software engineers that are accurate predictors of their performance in the workplace. We also give businesses and the expanding tech community a greater, broader, and better chance to engage internationally.
