Applications open for Access Bank’s Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Ton program season 5. Apply now

Access Bank Plc has launched the season 5 of its annual Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Ton program. The Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Ton Initiative aims to inspire, connect, and empower women while building on Access Bank’s ambition to be the Bank of Choice for Women in the markets and communities served. This is the foundation of the bank’s mandate, which is to provide financial and entrepreneurial skills to female entrepreneurs through the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton program.

The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Season 5 is intended to empower female-owned enterprises in Africa with access to capital, world-class business training, and mentoring opportunities.

Abiodun Olubitan, Group Head Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Ton Initiative, recently told reporters, “This program has been designed to create an enabling environment for female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.” Access Bank has been a strong supporter for women’s economic empowerment in Africa, which is the driving force behind the ‘Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Ton’ Initiative, which focuses on the women’s economy, notably in the areas of financing, capacity building, and networking opportunities for women.

“In 2019, we launched the first Womenpreneur pitch-a-ton initiative in line with our value proposition of being Nigeria’s No. 1 Bank of Choice for Women, and we have received over 150,000 applications over the last four years, awarded Mini-MBA training to 300 women, and provided over N45 million in grants.” This year, we are making the program larger and better by expanding the number of finalists to 120 women entrepreneurs.”

The 2023 Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton initiative, which will run from Monday, June 26 through August 11, 2023, will provide financial grants, an exclusive accredited capacity building program, and business mentoring geared at boosting female entrepreneurs. Female entrepreneurs who meet the criteria of having an existing firm for at least one year with at least 50% female ownership and being between the ages of 18 and 55 are eligible and must fill out an online application at www.womenpreneur.ng.

All online applications will be examined and screened by independent business experts for all 500 candidates who will be required to submit a sixty-second video presentation in order to be selected as one of the final top 120 finalists.They will receive an exclusive and certified Mini-MBA as well as awards. The program is designed for a 3-month period and includes 8 weeks of mini-MBA training in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and pitching sessions to a Pan-African Jury panel where the top finalists will pitch their businesses, infusing mini-MBA learnings, and will stand a chance to win financial grants and other consolation prizes.” Abiodun came to a conclusion.

Eligibility Criteria
1st Stage
• Applicant must have an Access Bank account number (Individual or Business
account)
• Applicant must be a woman in Business with a minimum of 50% ownership
• Applicant must be between the ages 18 to 55
• Applicant’s Business must have been operating for over 1yr
• Applicant must complete and submit the application form

2nd Stage
• Applicant must submit a one-minute video pitch about the Business
• Applicant must have a Business account with Access Bank
• Applicant’s Business must be registered
• Applicant must be available to undergo the Mini-MBA program physically in
Lagos.
