2017 member of Future Leaders Connect
As a member of Future Leaders Connect, you will travel to the UK for ten days (21 October – 1 November 2019) of advanced policy and leadership development programme at Møller Institute, Churchill College, University of Cambridge. You will discuss today’s biggest global challenges in the UK Houses of Parliament, meet inspirational leaders and visit world-renowned organisations. Following your time in the UK you will have worldwide connections, a policy action plan for change and the skills, knowledge and networks needed to be an influential leader in your country and beyond.
Connect to Cambridge for advanced policy and leadership training
During your stay in the UK you will futher develop your leadership skills and learn policy making expertise.
You will develop a deep understanding in to the policy challenges faced by those from different countries and environments. By learning from each other and by working together, you will form your policy action plans, a collaborative leadership model and refine how you convincingly pitch your policy vision for global change.
Connect to the UK Houses of Parliament
During the programme, you will be connected to influential leaders at the UK Houses of Parliament and UK Government institutions. You will discuss with these leaders your innovative policy ideas to tackle some of today’s biggest global challenges.
Connect to global leaders and world renowned institutions
You will have exclusive opportunties to attend private meetings with inspirational global leaders and visit some of the UK’s leading organisations.
In 2017 and 2018 Future Leaders Connect members debated peace and education with former UN Secretaries-General Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon, as well as other world leaders from The Elders organisation. Following discussions with UK politicians, they presented their innovative policy ideas at 10 Downing Street, the UK Prime Minister’s residence. Members have also met with Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times journalist Thomas L. Friedman and visited the BBC World Service head quarters.

We identify exceptional young leaders from around the world who we anticipate will play a significant role in policy making and politics in the years to come. If you are aged 18-35, have policy knowledge and the potential to be a senior leader, then this could be the opportunity for you.

The costs of travel, accommodation and meals are covered by the British Council and the programme is fully accessible.
