Apply now for the DBN Entrepreneurship Training Programme for young Nigerian Entrepreneurs

The yearly DBN Entrepreneurship Training Programme (DBNETP) is the Development Bank of Nigeria’s flagship program, now in its fifth cycle. Capacity building is a major objective of the Development Bank of Nigeria, and the bank has so far digitally and physically taught over 2000 MSMEs across Nigeria, utilizing partnerships and the DBN Learning Management System (LMS).

The annual DBN Entrepreneurship Training Programme seeks to accomplish the following goals:

1.Ensure that MSMEs have the skills and abilities necessary to defend strong and sustainable business propositions.

2.Improve MSMEs’ ability to acquire available finance.

3.Increase MSMEs’ capabilities for effective fund usage, trade, investment, and market access.

Target Audience: This event is accessible to all Nigerian MSMEs in any sector who are interested in gaining the necessary skills to succeed in conducting business in Nigeria.

Criteria for Eligibility
All applicants selected for onsite training must meet the following minimal eligibility requirements:

• The owner of the business must be at least 18 years old.

• The business owner must be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident.

• The company must be registered in Nigeria.

• The business must be profitable in any industry.

• Once accepted, the applicant must be available to commit to the training program.

The curriculum employs a hybrid learning structure that combines virtual and physical training.

• Virtual Training: The virtual training is a self-paced complete curriculum of essential business principles divided into 9 modules that will be applied through the BizAid App’s DBN learning management platform.

• Onsite Training: This is a 5-day intensive practical training based on a needs assessment of the nominated firms. A total of 350 businesses will be selected for training in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.

• Pitching Session: All enterprises will be eligible to pitch their company value proposition, and 25 will be chosen to win N500,000 in grant financing.

Flow of the Training Programme: 1. All applicants must register on the DBN BizAid application.

  1. All applicants must complete at least four obligatory courses on the BizAid Learning management platform and receive an average of 70% on all tests. The following courses must be completed: Accounting and bookkeeping b. MSMEs’ Sustainability c. Marketing and Sales Strategies, d. Credit Management/Financial Access.
  2. All firms that completed the four courses by the deadline will receive an email with a link to apply for the in-person training.
  3. Within 24 hours of submitting the application form, an email confirming receipt will be issued to the applicant.
  4. Applicants will be reviewed and shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria when the application closes.
  5. From the pool of shortlisted applications, selection will be made based on the established selection criteria.
  6. Successful applicants will be contacted via email to the email address supplied and phone call to the phone number provided on the application form.
  7. Training will begin on the dates specified in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.
